Fuel Forecast does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. Its only network activity is downloading two public price series. The forecast is computed and stored on your device. We cannot access anything about you.
Who we are
Fuel Forecast is provided by Dayton Thorpe, using Good Little Apps as a developer brand (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use Fuel Forecast or contact us.
The app's network requests
To build its forecast, the app requests two publicly available price series: daily RBOB gasoline futures prices from Yahoo Finance, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration's weekly average retail gasoline price from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis's FRED service. These are the same public resources anyone can open in a web browser.
The requests contain no account, identifier, location, or personal data — but like any internet request, they necessarily expose your device's IP address and standard technical metadata to those services, which process requests under their own privacy policies. Fuel Forecast sends nothing else, to no one else, ever.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps a small local cache: the most recently downloaded prices, the computed forecast, and your preferences (such as whether price-rise alerts are on). This is stored with Apple's on-device storage frameworks. We cannot access it. There is no cloud synchronization.
Apple device backups may include app data depending on your device and backup settings; Apple controls that service under its own terms and privacy practices.
Notifications
If you enable price-rise alerts, notifications are generated locally on your device by the app itself. There is no push notification server and no registration with any service. iOS asks for your permission before any notification is shown, and you can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.
External links and public pages
If you open the data source, support, or privacy links in the app, iOS opens the destination outside Fuel Forecast. The destination and your browser receive the technical information normally needed to load a webpage.
The public Fuel Forecast pages are hosted by GitHub Pages, so GitHub may process requests under its own privacy statement. Fuel Forecast does not receive your browsing activity.
Support correspondence
If you choose to email support, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and any other information you include. We use it only to understand and respond to your request, maintain the security and reliability of the app, and meet legal obligations.
We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and then delete or de-identify it, unless longer retention is legally required or needed to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
Data collection and tracking
The shipping app is designed without third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. It does not track you, access the advertising identifier, combine app activity with third-party data, or use data for targeted advertising.
Apple may process App Store downloads, crash reports, or device analytics when you use Apple services or have chosen to share diagnostics with Apple. Apple controls that processing; Fuel Forecast does not add its own diagnostics or analytics collection.
Your choices
You can turn price-rise alerts on or off in the app's Settings, and revoke notification permission in iOS Settings. The app works fully without notifications.
Removing Fuel Forecast removes its local cache and preferences, subject to any backup retained under your Apple settings. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing us from the address used for the request.
Children
Fuel Forecast is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. Because the app does not collect data through an account, analytics, or advertising system, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Security
Keeping data on-device limits its exposure, but no device or storage system is guaranteed to be secure. The app's price data is public information; still, protect your device with an appropriate passcode and keep iOS current.
Changes to this policy
If a future version materially changes the app’s data practices, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure before that version is released. The effective date above shows when this policy was last revised.
