Catch-can testing, made approachable

Know whether your lawn is being watered evenly.

Set out identical cups, run one sprinkler zone, and enter what each cup caught. SprinklerScore turns those readings into an understandable uniformity score, application rate, and runtime math.

A guided field test

From cups on the lawn to a useful diagnosis.

SprinklerScore keeps the process organized outdoors, where paper worksheets and long formulas are least convenient.

Inspect and set up

Note obvious faults, place identical straight-sided cups throughout one zone, and choose a test length. Twenty-four or more cups gives a more representative sample.

Run and measure

Use the built-in timer, then enter each cup in order. Work in inches or millimeters, or use volume with the collector’s inside diameter.

Understand and retest

Review low-quarter uniformity, application rate, observations, and runtime math. Adjust the zone, repeat the same setup, and compare the result.

Useful numbers, careful language

Coverage first. Runtime second.

Adding minutes cannot correct a badly uneven pattern. SprinklerScore separates the coverage diagnosis from the runtime calculation so a dry area is not mistaken for a simple schedule problem.

  • DULQ: the lowest-quarter average divided by the overall average.
  • Application rate: measured average depth converted to an hourly rate.
  • Average runtime: based on the target depth you supply.
  • Dry-quarter diagnostic: shown separately, with repair-and-retest context.
  • Optional gallons: estimated only when you enter the zone area.

Private by design

Your yard data stays on your iPhone.

There is no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, location access, or Good Little Apps data server.

Local records

Zone labels, readings, notes, and results are kept in the app’s on-device store. SprinklerScore does not upload them.

Deliberate exports

PDF and CSV files are created locally. They leave the app only after you choose a destination in Apple’s share sheet.

Apple handles payment

StoreKit processes the optional purchase. The app receives entitlement status, not your payment-card details.

You can delete it

Delete individual audits or clear all audits in Settings. Removing the app also removes local data, subject to your Apple backup settings.

SprinklerScore is an educational measurement aid, not a certified irrigation audit. It does not calculate plant water demand, evapotranspiration, weather adjustments, soil infiltration, local watering restrictions, or equipment safety. Use a target depth from a trusted local source and consult a qualified irrigation professional when appropriate.
