Privacy Policy

Appliance Log is designed to keep your appliance information private and under your control.

Effective: July 10, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 10, 2026

Summary

Appliance Log is provided by Dayton Thorpe (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

The short version
  • We do not require an account.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not show third-party advertising.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking technologies, or data brokers.
  • Your appliance records and copied attachments are stored on your device. The app does not automatically upload or sync them.

Information you add to the app

You may choose to enter appliance names, locations, brands, model and serial numbers, purchase information, warranty dates, service history, technician details, costs, notes, filter or part numbers, reminders, links, photos, receipts, manuals, warranty documents, and other attachments.

This information is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a server that receives or stores your appliance records.

No automatic cloud sync

Appliance Log does not include an app account or automatic cloud synchronization. To move your records to another device, create a complete backup, save it somewhere you control, and explicitly restore that file on the other device. If you choose iCloud Drive or another storage provider as an export or backup destination, that provider processes the file under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive it.

Separately, iOS may include app data in an encrypted device backup according to your device and Apple Account settings. Apple controls that system backup service; Appliance Log does not receive or operate it.

Photos, files, and attachments

The app accesses photos or files only when you choose an item to attach. Selected attachments are copied into the app’s local storage. Deleting or moving the original does not automatically delete the app’s copy. The app does not scan your photo library or files in the background.

If you open any external link from the app—including a manual link you saved, online support, the privacy policy, or terms—iOS opens it in your browser. The destination website and browser receive the normal information needed to load that page and process it under their own privacy practices. Appliance Log does not receive the request.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders on your device for dates you choose, such as maintenance or warranty deadlines. Notification permission is optional and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings. We do not receive your reminder content or notification activity.

Purchases

Appliance Log may offer a one-time in-app purchase through Apple’s App Store to unlock unlimited appliances. Apple processes payment information. We do not receive your card or bank details. The app receives only the purchase entitlement information needed on your device to unlock or restore the feature. Apple handles App Store purchase information under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

Exports and sharing

You can create a PDF for an individual appliance, a CSV covering all appliances, or a complete versioned backup. The backup includes your structured records and copies of attached documents and photos. You choose where exports and backups go through the iOS share sheet and file picker. Once you send information to another person, app, cloud provider, or storage location, that recipient’s privacy and security practices apply. Treat complete backups as sensitive because they may contain every record and attachment in the app.

Support communications

If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. Please do not send appliance records or documents unless they are necessary to resolve your request.

We use support communications only to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain a record of the resolution. We do not use them for advertising. We retain them only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, create advertising profiles, sell personal information, or share app data with data brokers.

Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store sales and performance information or process diagnostic information when a user has chosen to share it with Apple. Apple controls that collection under its own privacy terms; the app does not add its own analytics collection.

Data retention, deletion, and your choices

Your local records remain until you delete them in the app, delete the app and its local data, or erase your device.

You can delete individual appliances, service entries, reminders, and attachments in the app. Deleting Appliance Log removes its local records and copied files from that device. Export and backup files you previously shared remain wherever you saved them until you delete those copies. You may create a complete backup before deleting the app.

To request deletion of support correspondence held by us, email goodlittleapps.support@gmail.com from the address used for the support request. We may retain limited information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Security

We use Apple platform protections and limit data handling to the functions described in this policy. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device passcode, Apple Account, exported files, and any destinations to which you share records.

Children

Appliance Log is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not require an account or send appliance records to us, we generally cannot identify the age of a user.

International use

Local records remain on your device. If you make an App Store purchase, Apple may process purchase information in locations described in Apple’s terms and privacy policy. If you export to a cloud provider, that provider’s processing locations apply. Support email may be processed where our email provider and we operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s features or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or on our website. Material changes will apply prospectively unless the law requires otherwise.
