Backflow Log does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data through the app. Your tester profile, customers, devices, test records, and signatures are stored locally on your device. We cannot access them.
Who we are
Backflow Log is provided by Dayton Thorpe, using Good Little Apps as a developer brand (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use Backflow Log or contact us.
Information stored on your device
The app lets you enter your tester profile (name, business details, certification and license numbers, test gauge information), customer and facility records, backflow device details, gauge readings, repair notes, remarks, and on-screen signatures. Those records are stored locally using Apple's on-device storage frameworks. We cannot access them.
Backflow Log does not include automatic cloud synchronization. Apple device backups may include app data depending on your device and backup settings; Apple controls that service under its own terms and privacy practices.
Reports and sharing
Test report PDFs are created locally on the device. They leave Backflow Log only when you deliberately use Apple's share sheet and select a person, app, storage location, or service — for example, emailing a report to a water department. The recipient you choose processes the shared information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Review a report before sharing it: it intentionally contains the facility, device, and tester information needed for filing.
Backup files you export
My Info offers Export Backup, which writes a single file containing everything the app holds — tester profile, customers, devices, test readings, remarks, signatures, and photos — for you to save to a destination you choose. The file is created on your device and goes only where you send it. We never receive it, and the app does not upload it anywhere on its own.
The file is a plain, unencrypted copy of your business records, so anywhere you save it is now a place those records live. Choose a destination you control, and apply whatever protection that destination offers. Restore from Backup replaces the app's current contents with the file's, rather than merging them; the app shows you what a file holds before it does anything.
Reminders
Reminders are off until you switch them on, at which point iOS asks your permission for notifications. Everything scheduled is worked out on the device from records you already entered — a test coming due, the 14-day repair deadline after a failure, certification and gauge-calibration dates, and a monthly nudge to export a backup. There is no push server, no remote notification, and nothing about your records leaves the device in order to schedule them. Turning reminders off cancels everything pending.
No accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking
Backflow Log has no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and no third-party trackers. The app makes no network connections of its own.
Purchases
Backflow Log currently offers no in-app purchases. If a future version adds a purchase, Apple's StoreKit would process the transaction and we would not receive your payment-card or bank details; this policy would be updated first.
Support email
If you email goodlittleapps.support@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it to respond to you, and we do not add it to marketing lists or share it. Please do not email customer records or generated reports unless genuinely needed to resolve an issue.
These public pages
This site is served by GitHub Pages as static files. We run no analytics or cookies on it. GitHub may log requests (such as IP addresses) to operate the service under its own privacy practices.
Data retention and deletion
Your records remain on your device until you delete them. Deleting a record in the app removes it from the app's storage; deleting the app removes all of its local data from that device, subject to any Apple backups you keep. Reports you have already shared exist wherever you sent them.
Children's privacy
Backflow Log is a professional tool intended for adults working in the trades. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes any of the above — for example, by adding an optional sync or backup service — this policy will be updated, the effective date will change, and the change will be described in the App Store release notes.
